Fused Glass
Furniture for the Home
Why not turn the mundane into the exotic, the ordinary in the
extraordinary!
I might have
mentioned that I love glass, I also love wood.
Combine glass with wood, or metal, and you have a piece of
functional glass art. Have you bought a piece of IKEA
furniture lately? Why not turn it from one of millions to
one in a million with a piece of bespoke glass art? Ring
me, and I'll be happy to give you a quote.
In the
meantime, check out below:-
Exotic Climber

A hot
forged steel side table, with wonderful winding trailing leaves,
created by Master Craftsman; Paul Shepherd from Kimbolton,
Leominster.
www.metalsmiths.co.uk. As you can see, I have tried to
compliment Paul's design by creating a double layer of 3ml clear
glass set with two enormous red flowers off iridescent green
stems. I was trying to capture the wonderfully huge exotic
climbing flowers which grow in tropical climates.
51 cm x
38 cm x and 45cm high.
£430

Candy Stripe
Fused
glass composition of precisely cut colourful strips of Bullseye
glass fused onto a clear base and set into a brushed steel
side table.
55 cm x
55 cm square and 42 cm high.
£230

Garnet Magic
Fused
garnet red and dichroic glass strips set into a clear glass base
that is then fired onto fibreboard, which gives it a
textured
look. The glass is then set onto a laminate oak coffee/side
table.
60 cm x
560cm square and 45 cm high.
£260

Fall in Foil
A coffee
table made from a beautiful piece of seasoned Welsh burr oak, hand
polished by Gwyn Pryce of Llanfihangel.
Gwyn cut
three perfectly round holes within the wood. He didn't
want to spoil it! Set into the holes are three round fused
glass discs with copper foil leaves fused between the layers of
clear glass.
159 cm
long x 57 cm wide and 36 cm high
£360

Woodland Symmetry
Again., a
plank of the same seasoned Welsh burr oak, made into a coffee table by Gwyn Pryce. This
time I have fused colourful glass stringer, mixed with some
dichroic stringer, onto a dark olive green glass that has been
fused onto a clear glass base.
159 cm
long x 57 cm wide and 36 cm high
